Monday — a wreath, a lie and a makeshift pub

Becky’s funeral wreath shakes Costello, Betsy and Kit

Becky reveals she’s been sent a funeral wreath marked “Rest in Peace – Again”, and the message rattles her more than she lets on. Betsy’s bravado vanishes as she realises someone is targeting their family directly. Becky vows to fight fire with fire and demands help rather than pity from anyone who will listen.

She meets Costello and spells out that the sender means business, refusing to be brushed off as dramatic. Later in the precinct she quietly snaps photos of a group of teenage girls, clearly working some theory she hasn’t shared. Back at the station, Kit arrives for his promotion interview just as Costello opens a new message and blanches at a photo of his daughter.

As Kit leaves the office, Costello takes a tense call from Becky, and the tone is far too personal for a routine chat. Kit lingers outside the door and listens to fragments, instinctively sensing this is about far more than a bit of low-level trouble. The detective in him clocks that Becky and Costello are now tied together by something dangerous he only half understands.

Carl undermines Debbie as Fiz lies to Tyrone and Theo tightens his grip on Todd

At the hotel, Carl quietly stamps “Paid” across an invoice from Preston’s Petals before Debbie returns. When Tracy arrives with flowers for an event, Carl claims Debbie told him the bill was settled but he can’t find proof, painting her as forgetful and sloppy. Tracy leaves fuming while Carl plays the helpful colleague, and Debbie is left terrified that her worsening symptoms are wrecking her reputation.

Ronnie gently suggests Debbie step away from work, but for her the idea of giving up the hotel feels like another loss she isn’t ready to face. Over at home, Fiz claims Cilla needs an operation and that she has to go and look after her, hiding the guilt that’s eating away at her. Tyrone insists she must go, promising he and the girls will manage while he keeps pushing through his physio.

At the cab office, Tyrone asks Cassie for a lift and she whips off her headset, determined to drive him herself and make sure the session happens properly. Elsewhere, Todd complains that Theo is railroading him into half-marathon training, only for Theo to insist the regime is for Todd’s own good. Kevin proudly shows Steve and Dev the beer barrel and dartboard he’s installed at home, announcing he’s opened his own front-room pub so he can dodge Abi and Carl for a bit.

Wednesday — bathrobes, missing bosses and attack-dog energy

Becky plays Lisa and Carla off against each other as Costello vanishes

Knowing Lisa is meant to meet Carla for lunch, Becky turns up on the Street apparently drunk and broken. Lisa can’t quite walk past, so she brings Becky into No.6 to sober up and listens as she talks about losing everything. Becky leans into the role of the tragic ex, knowing exactly how to prick Lisa’s conscience.

After a shower, Becky strolls downstairs in Lisa’s bathrobe just as Carla arrives, having been stood up and already annoyed. The sight of her fiancée’s ex padding around in her dressing gown hits Carla like a punch, and she orders Becky out on the spot. When Lisa hesitates rather than backing Carla, it feels like the ground shifts underneath them both.

The moment exposes just how crowded Swarla’s relationship has become with Becky permanently in the wings. Carla clocks that the triangle can’t go on like this, even if she can’t quite walk away yet. Meanwhile Kit grows increasingly uneasy when Costello fails to show up at work, especially with Becky’s threats still ringing in his ears.

Sarah challenges Theo as Asha wavers over coming home and Debbie fights on

When Todd asks if he’s heard from Pete, Theo lies and claims his calls are being ignored, hiding a contract the two men have already signed. Later Sarah spots Theo and Pete laughing together as they climb into a van and her hackles go straight up. She raps on the window, demanding to know what Theo is playing at and refusing to be soothed by talk of a surprise for Todd.

Pete compares Sarah to an attack dog just as Todd turns up and finds her squaring up to both men. Mortified, Todd drags her away, leaving Theo incandescent at being challenged and humiliated. The more Sarah pushes, the more obvious it becomes that Theo’s controlling streak is only just getting started.

At the unit, Dev visits Asha and hears that she feels ready to return but is stung by the silence from her friends. Back on the Street he rounds on Summer, Nina and Amy for apparently abandoning her, spelling out that their lack of support has left Asha doubting whether it’s safe to come home. Over at the hotel, Chesney turns up with pizzas for Debbie’s choir practice, only to be stunned to see Fiz in reception and realise her story about Cilla doesn’t quite add up, while Debbie and Glenda row over song choices like they don’t have enough to worry about already.

Friday — mirrors, break-ups and a terrifying collapse

Theo’s jealousy over James shows Todd who he’s really dealing with

Theo drags a full-length mirror into the flat and explains that Todd can now keep daily tabs on his physique, making it sound supportive while piling on pressure. After another gruelling run, Todd is exhausted when James arrives with fitness gear and a breezy grin. James insists on showing Todd how to use everything properly, putting a friendly hand on his arm as he talks.

Theo’s irritation is obvious as he watches James flirt in front of him, even if Todd insists nothing is going on. The power imbalance in the room shifts, with James treating Todd like an equal while Theo acts more like a drill sergeant than a boyfriend. When James finally leaves, Theo’s temper snaps and the mask he wears for everyone else falls away.

He accuses Todd of fancying James and twists every innocent gesture into proof that he is being betrayed. Todd denies it and tries to calm him down, but logic doesn’t land when someone is already determined to be jealous. In a flash of fury Theo grabs Todd, venting all the anger he’s been building for weeks and leaving Todd with a chilling glimpse of what this relationship might really be.

Carla ends things with Lisa as Asha’s friends rally and Summer hits the floor

At the station, Kit fills Lisa in on the attack on Costello and gently raises the possibility that Becky could be involved. The idea that the woman she keeps rescuing might be behind such violence shakes Lisa badly. While she wrestles with that, Carla quietly reaches her own decision and decides she can’t stay engaged under this level of chaos.

Carla tells Lisa it’s over, cutting through the drama with a bluntness that leaves Lisa reeling. At the hotel, Carl quietly changes the password on the accounts system and refuses to share it with Ryan, reminding him that from now on the finances belong to him alone. Debbie then receives an email confirming she is expected to speak at an upcoming event, and the thought of standing at a podium sends her anxiety through the roof.

Across in the unit, Nina and Amy visit Asha with a personalised jigsaw of the three of them and try to convince her that she is still part of their little gang. Asha thanks them but can’t quite hide the hurt that she hasn’t felt fully supported when things were darkest, especially with Summer late to the visit. When Summer finally arrives to make amends, she suddenly grips the door frame for balance and collapses in front of them, leaving Asha and the others yelling for help as staff rush to her side.
